Capital One Travel Now Offers A Luxury Hotel Collection And ‘Chef Driven’ Airport Lounges

Cardholders will now have access to luxury hotel perks including early check in, free breakfast, room upgrades and more.

In an announcement made this morning, credit card company Capital One will soon offer cardholders its very own hotel booking program with the launch of Premier Collection for Capital One Venture X Rewards as well as two new “chef driven” Capital One airport lounges by the end of this year.

Featuring “hand selected” luxury hotels and resorts around the world, Premiere Collection customers will be able to experience a variety of benefits from daily breakfast for two, complimentary Wifi and additional premium benefits like early check-in, late checkout, room upgrades, and an elevated earn on every stay.

When asked about the launch of Premier Collection, President and Head of Capital One Travel and Lounge for Capital One Jenn Scheurich said today’s announcement has been a long time coming.

“While we have known that this is something we wanted to build for a while, last year we entered the travel and premium markets in a major way with both the launch of Capital One Travel in partnership with Hopper and then the launch of our Venture X card, both of which we committed to continuously improving through premium benefits, elevated earn and unique experiences such as Premier Collection,” Scheurich wrote in an email to Forbes.

A few of the Venture X perks cardholder’s can earn are unlimited 10X miles per dollar on Premier Collection bookings, as well as hotel loyalty points and status. Premium benefits when booking through the Premier Collection also include a $100 experience credit to use on dining, spa, or other activities.

“After talking with our customers, analyzing spending behavior, and examining travel trends to ensure we had a really clear read on the industry, it was obvious that there was a desire from our customers for a highly curated hospitality offering,” Scheurich said. “From our Premier Collection to our expanding and innovative airport experiences, we’re excited to continue to develop a truly best in class end-to-end travel experience to our customers.”

From hidden gem city getaways, charming villas, private island retreats, and boutique design hotels, Scheurich said every property within the collection is a destination in its own right. Properties that have been curated for Capital One cardholders include Small Luxury Hotels, The Leading Hotels of the World, Six Senses, 1 Hotels, and Proper Hotels among others.

“We have hand-selected each and every property within this collection, looking beyond the obvious to find a diverse group of one-of-a-kind luxury hotels and resorts that we know our customers are seeking out,” Scheurich said. “When building the collection, we wanted to ensure that each property would provide our customers with unparalleled service, authentic character and amazing local experiences.”

In addition to the announcement of Premium Collection hotels, Capital One Landing lounges will offer travelers an alternative to the traditional airport lounge. With two locations planned for Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and New York’s LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal B (LGA), Capital One has partnered with chef José Andres and will soon offer travelers an elevated, “culinary-focused” airport dining experience.

“As travel continues to be a major focus for our cardholders in the post-pandemic travel boom, we could think of no better time to launch the Premier Collection,” Scheurich said. “We look forward to growing the collection in a thoughtful way that opens the door to new experiences and destinations for our customers.”
