The Yellow Springs community is sometimes known as an “Education Village," due to the breadth and depth of educational opportunities it offers residents and visitors.

Early childhood learning and day care are available through the Community Children’s Center and other private facilities.

The Yellow Springs public schools have been recognized as National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence, dedicated to meeting the needs of every child through a comprehensive academic program and a commitment to the fine arts, interscholastic athletics, and a variety of activities and clubs. Over the next several years, all of Yellow Springs Schools will courageously transform its pedagogy to a more student directed Project Based Learning approach.

The Antioch School offers child-centered programs for nursery, kindergarten, and traditional grade school ages in mixed-age groups.

On June 14, 2104, President Mark Roosevelt announced that Antioch College is one step closer to becoming a fully accredited college, after being nominated as a candidate for accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), the national accrediting body. This development allows the college to take advantage of federal financial aid for students and the opportunity to achieve full accreditation within two years.

Antioch College and Antioch University Midwest provide both undergraduate and graduate programs. Yellow Springs itself is at the center of 14 other institutions of higher education, both public and private, all within a 30-minute drive.

The community also offers arts and crafts education opportunities through the Yellow Springs Arts Council.

Our community library is the most popular in the Greene County system and other specialized libraries at Antioch University and elsewhere are also available to residents.
